Ahead of a NATO anniversary summit in London on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the European allies. He said "It is not right to be taken advantage of on NATO and also then to be taken advantage of on trade, and that's what happens. We can't let that happen,"
As NATO headed to celebrate its 70th anniversary, France's Macron, last month, called it "brain dead". Trump called those comments "very nasty" and continued to say that "Nobody needs NATO more than France". While demanding Europe to pay more for defence, Trump criticized Germany for spending very little on defence.
