On Monday, December 2, 2019 , MSNBC has mistakenly aired photo of white supremacist Richard Spencer during coverage of recently fired Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer.

Joy Reid of the MSNBC was the one reading a portion of the recent op-ed by the former Navy secretary criticizing President Trump.

It is to be noted that on Saturday, April 28, 2018, MSNBC’s Joy Reid came under fire for her homophobic language in old blog posts and had apologized for any past comments that belittled or mocked the LGBTQ community.

Instead of Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer's, she showed the photo of noted alt-right figure Richard B. Spencer. Later on, just before the break, she said that she is 'deeply sorry' for what happened.
